So when Norwegian heavy duty maintenance outfit KTV Group called on us to provide CCTV pipe inspection services for an oil & gas vessel docked in Port Hedland, we kitted up and headed north.

This job presented unique challenges for our team. We had to take extra push camera inspection units to ensure we had all the equipment to get the job done in the remote environs.
We were introduced to the Captain, First Officer, Chief Engineer and Senior Ship Manager on arrival. The crew were clued in to the capabilities of CCTV pipe inspection and were able to show our team a selection of pipes they had previously replaced, pointing out errors they discovered through their own observations.
After the KTV Group team provided a comprehensive pipe system overview, Allpipe Technologies conducted thorough surveys in two phases.
Phase 1 inspections focused identifying and marking defects on 3 droplines and 3 spools playing critical roles in the ship’s process flow.
Phase 2 involved 300mm and 400mm pipe diameters with a large number of bends, valves and crossover points.
Both phases took several hours each, requiring our CCTV pipe inspection team to diligently observe and check for defects, cracks, or signs of wear. We worked closely with the ship’s crew to complete the job efficiently and provide results that exceeded expectations.
