Guidera O’Connor (GO) specialise in delivering water treatment and pumping projects to a wide range of water authorities and councils nation-wide. Their range of work includes building, civil, mechanical as well as electrical and are specialists when it comes to design and construction in the water industry.
GO engaged Allpipe Technologies to locate under ground services that where not present on the most up to date ASCON due to historical management changes. The area contained sensitive underground services, 5 in total, that contained gas, water, chlorine, potable water and wastewater.
The exact location of the portable water pipeline needed to be exposed in the safest way possible for GO to connect and install a branch line.
To expose the potable water pipeline, Allpipe used a potholing technique that utilised a combination of Jetvac and hydro excavation. Once the potholing was completed, the pipelines were exposed with vacuum eduction and high-pressure water to break up the ground.
Using traditional excavation methods would have increased the risk
The works were completed quicker and more efficiently using a vacuum loader
Controlled waste was taken to an approved waste disposal site leaving not mess on site
